The dictionary defines simulation as: “the imitation of some real thing, state of affairs, or process. The act of simulating something generally entails representing certain key characteristics or behaviours of a selected physical or abstract system.”

In the year 2000 I visited the United States and being one who takes interest in gadgets I found a device called the GPS, So when I brought back my Magellan 315 and showed it to my friends,  although it was known to many it was still too expensive and not user friendly and there was at that point very limited support. When the various manufactures introduced 2D and 3D mapping this sparked huge interest from the consumer and as they say the rest is history!!

So what has all this got to do with simulation you ask? Simulation has been taught in our Technikons to students for many years. There are also very competent companies out there that offer simulation services the only problem is that South African Industry is waiting for the next level of simulation …and it is here in the form of  Flexsim.

Flexsim is designed to be user friendly. No other simulation software compares to the level of customization that Flexsim provides. You can create your own classes, libraries, GUIs, or applications. Flexsim opens up what most competing products protect as source code.Flexsim offers 3 D visualizations one can simulate almost any environment and analyze the bottlenecks and create 3 D charts and graphs in your model. Flexsim can identify areas of cost saving or efficiency. Industry can analyze the risks associated with expansion projects, time delays, procuring of the right equipment or the right type of equipment. Test concepts before implementation. The best time to Simulate your Industry is now.
